How Hitch Hikers Started:
Founder Joseph Schaufele started Hitch Hikers after being rear-ended at a red light—when the driver behind couldn’t clearly see his brake lights (partly due to vehicle height differences). That experience sparked a mission: create an attention-grabbing signaling accessory that improves visibility and makes roads safer—without being boring.
